Food for Thought: ACA Enrollment & Chicago Restaurant Week

Posted on January 24th, 2014

Winter in Chicago. As the joke goes the only other season should be construction. Now that the worst of the polar vortex has passed (or we’ve grown accustomed to it) people are more expressive and passionate about two things this week: food and health care reform.

Chicago Restaurant Week, which started today, runs until Feb. 6. This is the time of year where foodies, tourists and everyone in-between can take part in a new culinary experience. Restaurants from the city to the suburbs entice people to try their fare. Compare menus to see what works best for you.

Also taking place is the first open enrollment period under the new health care law, which runs until March 31. The insured, uninsured and people with pre-existing conditions have just over two months left to explore their options when it comes to health insurance, unless they experience a qualifying life event. The government, exchanges, insurance producers and others are helping people enroll in plans before the season ends. Compare plan details and get quotes  to see what works best for you.

Chicago, it’s time to sink your teeth into the health insurance enrollment season! Remember to share health care reform information with friends and family just as you would an online review about a great local restaurant.
