Content Marketing Specialist - Chicago, IL

Summary: Your role will be to develop marketing content from conception to completion, including assisting the team with planning, executing, and monitoring of marketing campaigns.  You will be responsible for short-form and long-form content creation, along with managing, writing and editing content across multiple mediums.  Your challenge is to write engaging content that resonates with the target audience and drives sales growth in our health insurance market and apply digital marketing tactics in the B2B environment.  
Key responsibilities include:
  • Working closely with the Internal and External Marketing teams, you will develop content in support of the firm’s growth strategy.  Develop the overall brand voice for Flex while managing content used for all marketing and communications efforts, including emails, direct mail, advertising, collateral, press releases, etc.
  • Support sales and various other partner presentations by assembling and editing appropriate PowerPoint slides, videos and demos, including presentations and script development.
  • Maintain and coordinate web site projects and activities, including content updates, navigational changes, and user experiences. Provide input for search marketing efforts and maintain reports from Google Analytics.
  • Work with design, development and hosting vendors to help manage the website(s).
  • Create and manage strong written content for websites, landing pages, blogs, CTA’s, newsletters, social media, PR and other content types within the brands’ style and tone..
  • Write ad copy and clear, quantifiable calls-to-action for clients and prospects.
  • Conduct research for content creation, from both external and internal sources
  • Develop and manage editorial communications calendar including but not limited to blogs, white papers, marketing newsletters and solution briefs


Requirements include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related degree.
  • 1-2 years’ previous experience building and executing a content strategy and related duties such as generating marketing qualified leads from writing engaging short and long form content.  
  • 1-2 years experience translating highly technical concepts into highly readable, actionable content for a B2B audience. This includes white paper and ebook caliber writing skills.
  • Ability to learn and use Drupal (content management system)
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
