Employers will now be able to select a program that fits the size of their organization, making Federal COBRA Administration more cost effective than ever before. New FlexCOBRA pricing options that will take effect on September 1, 2010, include:

Option A (Formerly Option 1)

  • Fixed rate pricing structure that can be more cost-effective for smaller businesses
  • Standard annual and initial notice fee
  • A per covered employee and COBRA participant per month fee covers the monthly cost of administration
  • No additional per qualifying event fees apply

Option B (Formerly Option 2)

  • Pay-as-you-go fee structure that can be more cost-effective for larger businesses
  • Includes a standard annual and initial notice fee
  • A minimum monthly fee is assessed
  • Each group is charged by qualifying event, and participating COBRA enrollees per month
  • No per covered employee per month fees apply
