InsureXSolutions to Help Chicagoans Beat the Obamacare Deadline at the St. Paddy’s Day Run/Walk
With Less Than 3 Weeks until the March 31 Deadline, Chicagoans Will Have a Chance to Speak with Insurance Experts, Get Free Quotes and Sign up for Coverage
ROSEMONT, Ill. – March 14, 2014 – InsureXSolutions® , a private health insurance exchange launched by Flexible Benefit Service Corporation (Flex), announced today that the exchange is sponsoring the Chicago St. Paddy’s Day 5K & 8K Run/Walk on Saturday, March 15 in Lincoln Park. Team members from InsureXSolutions will be at the race to raise awareness of the March 31 Obamacare enrollment deadline and answer questions.
A favorite among Chicago’s running community, the annual St. Paddy’s 5K & 8K Walk/Run kicks off the outdoor season with a competitive, timed run. The event includes a costume contest, post-race party and more. The event will raise money for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which serves the community through a network of more than 650 pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs.
InsureXSolutions will host a tent where participants and spectators can speak with licensed insurance professionals. All visitors can ask questions about Obamacare, see if they qualify for premium assistance, get free health insurance quotes, compare plans and even apply for health coverage. Visitors can also enter for a chance to win an iPad.
“Uninsured Chicagoans don’t have much time until the March 31 health law deadline,” said John DiVito, President of Flex. “People need immediate resources to learn about the health law, review their options and get covered before it’s too late. Our goal is to help as many people as possible avoid the tax penalties.”
According to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), individuals need to have health insurance coverage by March 31, 2014, in order to avoid government tax penalties. In 2014, a family that fails to get insurance will have to pay 1 percent of their income or $95 per adult and $47.50 per child—whichever is greater. The penalties will increase to 2 percent in 2015 and 2.5 percent in 2016.
With the deadline looming, InsureXSolutions has stepped up efforts to help Chicagoans learn about Obamacare and take action with a variety of tools and resources.
