InsureXSolutions Private Exchange Partners with Illinois Chamber of Commerce

Small employers, consumers gain access to new health law resources and insurance marketplace

ROSEMONT, IL (October 30, 2013) – InsureXSolutions® announced today that it has partnered with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to offer new health insurance options and resources to small employers and consumers. The Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange, powered by InsureXSolutions, will provide an online marketplace for small businesses and their employees, as well as individual consumers, to connect with the most appropriate and affordable health insurance plan.

The recent launch of the Health Insurance Marketplaces is creating a lot of uncertainty and confusion for Illinoisans.  A result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the health care coverage and delivery system has instantly changed, and small employers, their employees and individuals are looking for solutions.

Helping Small Employers

The Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange will provide small businesses that currently do not offer health benefits, as well as those small businesses who currently offer a defined benefit plan to their employees, the opportunity to lay a foundation for their employees to obtain health insurance by offering a simple, low-cost alternative to traditional employer-sponsored health coverage.

With the exchange, small employers will be able to make their employees’ transition to mandated health coverage in 2014 more seamless and less stressful. The Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange will offer employees the opportunity to shop and purchase health coverage that fits their specific needs.

“This partnership is here to help Illinois small employers that are looking for guidance about the new health laws,” says John DiVito, President of Flexible Benefit Service Corporation (Flex), who exclusively offers InsureXSolutions. “As an Illinois business, we understand the needs of other local employers. We believe the Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange is a milestone toward simplifying the employee benefits experience for small employers, while empowering their employees in the new healthcare marketplace.”

New Consumer Marketplace

The Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange will also be available for Individuals, families, part-time workers and the self-employed, among others. The exchange will provide access to an online marketplace to shop and compare health, dental and short-term medical insurance plans from leading insurers in Illinois.

Numerous e-learning resources will be available to provide ongoing knowledge, including a glossary, blog articles and an FAQ library addressing the most common questions about the new health law.  Consumers can also determine if they qualify for health insurance premium assistance with the availability of a subsidy calculator.

In addition, these new health care consumers will be able to access a web-based decision support tool that provides customized insurance quotes. By answering a few health care and financial questions, health insurance plans will be recommended for the specific needs of each online shopper. Along the way, licensed insurance professionals will be available to assist anyone shopping on the private exchange.

“The Illinois Chamber and its Healthcare Council have remained at the forefront of providing educational resources to help employers and their employees navigate the complexities of the Affordable Care Act and the new health insurance landscape,” said Doug Whitley, President and CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.  “Our new partnership with InsureXSolutions to offer the Illinois Chamber Benefits Exchange allows us to enhance these extensive resources with a solution that speaks to our goal of helping employers and individuals access health insurance options that meet their unique needs.”
